What is the Software Engineering Laboratory?
The C. Doppler Laboratory for Software Engineering (CDL-SE) was founded in 1992.
CDL-SE mainly fosters the application of engineering techniques and tools for the development, documentation and maintenance of large-scale software systems and enriches the scientific foundations of its industrial partners. Inversely, CDL-SE gains first-hand experience from direct involvement in large industrial projects. The staff members of CDL-SE are drawn from two departments of the Johannes Kepler University, the Software Engineering Department (head: Prof. Pomberger) and the Software Department (head: Prof. Rechenberg) complemented by four to six additional researchers.
What does the Software Engineering Laboratory do?
To achieve the demanding goals of the C. Doppler Society, CDL-SE concentrates its activities in
the following areas:
Research in the fields of software prototyping, object-oriented software development, programming languages, distributed systems, and distributed software development
Observation of research and practice in the field of Software Engineering
Development of object-oriented applications, tools, and language processors
Training in the fields of software engineering, computer science foundations, and human-computer interaction
Consulting in the field of industrial software development processes
Mentoring of industrial projects
