Signal Processing for LASER induced Ultrasound based Non-Destructive Material Testing

In LASER induced ultrasound measurements a LASER impuls applied on a surface generates an ultrasound wave. This ultrasound wave travels through the material and is disturbed by every inhomogeneity within the material before being measured again. This allows for characterizing the inhomogeneities within the material. The project goal is to improve this material characterization by applying modern signal processing methods on the transmit and receive side of the measurement system.
