Hydrogen fuel cells are highly efficient, environmentally friendly, and offer a wide range of applications, making them a promising technology for the energy sector and transportation of the future. In the current state of the art, the high-speed air compressor is a key component for the subsystem supplying air to the cathode of the fuel cell due to its low weight, compactness, and high efficiency. The objective is to increase the technological readiness of key technologies for next-generation compressors that will not contain rare earth magnets and will provide comparable or better performance than current solutions. In addition, the project will focus on the development and implementation of bearingless technologies for these compressors, with the aim of improving their performance.
