A controllable queueing system with several exponential heterogeneous servers and Poisson arrivals is considered.
According to an optimal allocation discipline the fastest server is always active whenever there is at least on job in the system, whereas all other servers are active when the number of jobs in the queue exceeds the corresponding prescribed thresholds.
The problem of determining the distribution function of the waiting time is formulated.
