System Parameter Estimation for a Laser-Speckle Strain Gauge

In this paper a specific arrangement for an interferometric
laser–speckle gauge is suggested. The geometrical parameter of the
set–up are determined by a grid search over the viable set to minimize
the impact of deviations of the geometrical parameter. Furthermore,
we suggest a linear unbiased minimum variance estimator for
measuring an applied measurand vector to the observed specimen.
Measurement results using this estimator are shown for a particular
measurement set–up of the laser–speckle gauge.
