Original Kurzfassung:
The Linz Center of Competence in Mechatronics (LCM) pursues the strategy of doing digital control primarily in a Pulse Width Control (PWM) mode. Compared to the Pulse Code Modulation (PCM), this approach needs a significantly lower number of switching valves and seems to be better suited for low cost realization of digital hydraulics. One disadvantage using Pulse Width Modulation, on the test rig the so called "Seesaw" at the University of Tampere, have been tested successfully and have been experimentally demonstrated at the DFP2010 workshop in Tampere. This paper is a written report about the theoretical background, the data and the results.
