The 2016 International Conference on Information Integration and Web-Based Applications and
Services (iiWAS) was the 18th edition of this conference series. The conference has been a venue of
authors for various countries to share and to collaborate in solving problems associated with
information integration and web-application and services.
The acceptance rate for this year is 43%. The topic of data analytics has attracted many submissions
in the last few years. It shows that iiWAS community?s ability to evolve with the current research
demands. Other web topics such as web applications, web and cloud technology are still important to
iiWAS community. The need to support integration of disparate data and services is still prevalent.
In the last few years, iiWAS has also seen the increase in submissions in the area of security. The
papers provide analysis of security threats and propose solutions to the security issues associated
with the traditional iiWAS topics such as web applications and web services.
With the need to solve big data processing challenges, iiWAS has also seen the increase in the
number of submissions related to the distributed data processing and cloud technology. It has
become a consistent topic exists in the last few series of iiWAS.
