Original Kurzfassung:
The magnetic field and the temperature dependencies of the dispersive and the absorption components of the low frequency ac magnetic susceptibility for thallium and mercury based high-temperature superconductors have been measured, analyzed and compared with those of a bismuth-based single crystal superconductor. The ac susceptibilites measured at various ac and dc magnetic fields showed both intergrain and intragrain components. The intergrain microstructure affected the low magnetic field behavior of the susceptibility and the intragrain superconducting shielding dominated at higher magnetic fields. Critical current densities have been extracted from the experimental data via a superconducting critical state model.
