For measuring the isothermal bulk modulus of e.g., hydraulic fluids, three methods are commonly used [1]. i) the volume change method, ii) the flow change method, and iii) the sound wave propagation method. We propose a fourth method based on measuring the local density variation due to pressure which has certain advantages over the aforementioned approaches.
