Signal processing techniques for impairments and interference reduction in wireless transceivers

Prof. Juan Cousseau, Universidad Nacional del Sur, Bahia Blanca, Argentina -- Typical impairments of modern wireless transceivers are mainly associated to RF front-end or due to interference related to modulation/demodulation baseband processing. Most alternatives to reduce these impairments are model based techniques that, after a suitable estimation strategy, allow a reduced complexity compensation. Among the RF front-end impairments it is possible to consider: power amplifier nonlinearities, I/Q imbalance, etc. For the modulation/demodulation processing it is possible to take into account: analog-to-digital conversion distortion, synchronization (CFO, time offset and phase noise compensation) and self-interference (for full-duplex systems). We include in these talk recent advances in: intercarrier interference modeling for full-duplex systems, advanced sampling techniques for self-interference reduction in full-duplex systems and post-compensation techniques for distortion reduction in high performance A/D converters.
