A large fraction of the extra-functional requirements is quantitative, i.e., they can be evaluated in a mathematically precise way by computing some metric on either the CPS design artifacts or an auxiliary analysis model. For complex metrics, the architecture models (e.g., block diagrams) of the CPS are usually not sufficient, and we have to adopt specific mathematical formalisms for con-
